The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
