The Red Devils Poised to Secure German Forward Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
The Women's Super League club are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific German forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move away from Bayern Munich.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
The forward, with half a year left on her contract, is known as a prolific goalscorer for both club and country. She has netted over 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for Germany. This signing will be seen as a major coup for the Women’s Super League team.
Her exit from Munich has been anticipated after she was seen fighting back tears while thanking the club's supporters following a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in late December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its top forwards. Per multiple sources, all the paperwork for the transfer have now been completed.
Consistent Goal Threat to Strengthen United's Forward Line
The 28-year-old’s signing is expected to provide a significant uplift to the team's attacking options. She has been remarkably consistent with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven straight seasons, up to and including the last term, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.
