The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his televised remarks.

The Incident

He was omitted from a vital match after criticising the club and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

The head coach has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.

Looking Ahead

The player stated that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

He also noted that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the interview fallout. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to destabilise the squad.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, playing well and securing victories.”
