Former Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of performing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
