Accused Bondi Shooters Operated Alone and Received No Instruction in the Southeast Asian Nation, Police State.

The two suspected individuals responsible for the deadly attack at a Jewish celebration on Bondi Beach, that took 15 lives, reportedly acted alone, as stated by national authorities.

Investigators also confirmed that the 50-year-old Sajid Akram, and his 24-year-old son Naveed Akram, 24, flew to the Philippines on 1 November. Their travel plans involved arriving in the capital Manila before connecting that same day to Davao City. The duo returned to Sydney on 29 November.

No Evidence of Training During Visit

Police have stated the pair did not partake in any form of terrorist instruction or "logistical preparation" during their time in the Philippines. Preliminary findings from local officials point to they "rarely left" their hotel.

The attack—described as Australia's most severe mass shooting since 1996—has been officially designated a act of terrorism.

"Our teams are actively analyzing the evidence," she said, noting that initial reviews show that "the alleged offenders are believed to have acted alone."

National law enforcement Chief Krissy Barrett briefed reporters on Tuesday that security camera video tracking the accused attackers' activities in the Philippines had been submitted to Australian authorities.

"There is little to no indication to indicate these accused individuals were members of a larger network, or were directed by others to carry out an act of violence," she emphasized.

However, the pair were also not in the Philippines on a leisure trip, she clarified. She underscored that, as the investigation is still active, additional details could surface.

Ideology and Legal Charges

Previously, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said it seems both alleged attackers were "inspired by ISIS" extremist views.

During the attack, Sajid Akram was shot dead by responding officers. He and his son Naveed—reportedly carrying firearms—are accused of having shot guests at the Hanukkah event.

Naveed Akram, who was injured and taken to hospital after the shooting, has been charged with 59 crimes. These encompass 15 charges of murder and one count of carrying out a terrorist act. He is due to face court in April.

Immigration Details

In the days following the attack, immigration officials in the Philippines stated that the older suspect had entered the country using an Indian passport, while his son used an domestic passport.

The duo had declared the southern city of Davao as their intended endpoint. Their pre-arranged return flight to Australia was for Sydney.
